The Team
Welcome to The Cobblestone Tea House, a quintessentially British tea house nestled in the heart of historic Steyning, West Sussex. Our charming establishment is set within a 15th-century building, rich with history and character, providing a tranquil retreat from the everyday.
Owned and operated by Janine, who brings over 20 years of catering experience and a passion for exceptional service, our tea house is a haven for those seeking delicious food and a cosy atmosphere. Our dedicated team shares this commitment, striving to build warm relationships with every guest.
We take pride in offering a luscious selection of freshly baked scones, vegan options, and locally sourced produce, supporting Sussex farmers and suppliers to bring you the freshest ingredients. Our menu caters to a variety of tastes, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
We are dog-friendly, with three tables at the front of our tea house welcoming well-behaved dogs. However, due to our open kitchen, we’re unable to allow dogs nearer the kitchen or interior dining tables.
Situated just a stone’s throw from the beautiful South Downs, our location is perfect for walkers and visitors exploring the area. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful spot to unwind or a welcoming place to meet with friends, The Cobblestone Tea House offers a unique and memorable experience.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
“Very pretty, quiet and shaded (or sunny if preferred) outside tables, very good value for savoury afternoon tea (pot of tea, cheese scone, cream cheese, yummy chutney & grapes) delightful staff, great service. Will definitely patronise again! A lovely location for lunch with Mum”
“It’s like stepping back in time. Beautiful surroundings, enchanting music, and such wonderful food; recommend the Stilton ploughman! Love this place feels like coming home as soon as you walk in the door. The staff are lovely and create a magical place to relax and find some peace out of your busy day.”
“The biggest and best value breakfast you’ll ever get in Sussex! Worth travelling to as we did. We had one extra large full English and one vegan breakfast (with the best vegan sausages I’ve tasted). We’ve also been here for lunch and had huge, filled jacket potatoes. Whatever you order will last you all day!”
